Itinerary
Day 1 MAUMERE ARRIVAL – MONI VALLEY
Upon arrival at Frans Seda Airport of Maumere, head out for lunch at a local restaurant before the commencement of the tour. The tour starts with an orientation sightseeing of Maumere town, the capital of Sikka regency and its surroundings. Visit the Nita village to view the process of making traditional Tenun Ikat (tie-dye) hand weaving textiles of typical genuine Maumere weaving pattern. Then visit the Blikon Blewut Museum, where a great number of precious old-aged collections of local artworks and historical testimonies demonstrate both nature and human being, life and civilization growth and change of Maumere’s nature and its sub-ethnic group, can be sighted and experienced. Continue to Moni Valley, located at the foot of Mount Kelimutu. Following arrival at Moni valley, check-in to the hotel, have dinner and rest.

Day 2 MONI – KELIMUTU – ENDE – WOGO – BAJAWA
Have an early breakfast and leave Moni Valley for Mount Kelimutu, about 12 km or half an hour away. View one of the greatest mysteries of the world, the three-coloured-lakes of Kelimutu (green, light blue and dark red), located inside the crater on the top of the mountain, 1.64 meters above sea level. Guests are strongly recommended to reach the top of the mountain before the sun rises, as the best time to witness the beauty of combination of the colours of the three lakes and their surrounding mountainous sceneries is between six and seven in the morning.

The tour moves on westward heading for Ende, en-route visiting Wolotopo Traditional Village to view megalithic tribal houses and witness the process of making distinctive Ende-LioTenun Ikat (tie-dye) hand weaving motif. Guests to have lunch at a local restaurant in Ende town. A short sightseeing of the town will be made before heading to Bajawa. While en-route, stop at Nangapenda, to see the blue stone beach. Then onto Wogo Traditional Village to view unique traditional tribal houses and the process of making the Tenun Ikat (tie-dye) hand weaving textiles of Bajawa weaving motif. Depart to Bajawa, check-in to the hotel, have dinner and rest.

Day 3 BAJAWA – BENA – LIANG BUA ARCHAELOGICAL CAVE – RUTENG
Before departing for Bena, guests will be taken to visit the traditional open market of Bajawa, where local people coming from neighbouring villages, to sell their products and buy their basic necessities. Arrive at Bena, a traditional cultural village, regarded as one of the most indigenous cultural tribal villages on Flores Island, which has been functioning as a “Living Museum” for foreign visitors and anthropologists. Bena offers lots of huge tombs surrounded by old-aged tribal houses built in the most traditional architecture of the oldest tribe in Bajawa.

Drive westward for Ruteng, passing through the pleasant countrysides and spectacular panoramic views. Just before entering Ruteng town, visit the Liang Bua archaeological cave, where skeletons of the short people from Flores, less than 90 cm tall, were recently found (anthropologically named Homo Floresiensis) and are said to be thousands of years old. This archaeological site has been a curiosity for scientists, archaeologists, and anthropologists. Check-in to the hotel, have dinner and rest.

Day 4 RUTENG – CANCAR – TODO – LABUAN BAJO – BATS ISL
After breakfast, depart for Labuan Bajo and visit Cancar en-route to view the traditional man-made typical spider-web-shaped rice fields called “Lingko”. See the lifestyles of the indigenous farmers of the Manggarai sub-ethnic group. Continue driving west to Todo Traditional Cultural Village, where the palace of the Todo kingdom which existed about 300 years ago. See and hear the old tribal legends such as a drum which was made from the skin of the belly of a beautiful young girl who was sentenced to death because of her refusal to marry the King of Todo. Other highlights include viewing the indigenous traditional architecture and lifestyles.

Continue west, passing through spectacular landscapes to arrive at Labuan Bajo, the capital of West Manggarai regency. Head to Labuan Bajo Harbour to proceed to a live-aboard Phinisi, a motored wooden schooner with tall masts and wide sails. Sail towards Bats Island (Pulau Kalong) before the sun sets, to witness thousands of long-winged bats coming out from their habitat (evergreen mangrove forest) to hunt for food along the night over Flores mainland. Sail near Komodo Island, where the boat will lay anchors. Have dinner and rest on board the boat. Night on the sea.

Day 5 BATS ISL – KOMODO ISL – PINK BEACH – MANTA POINT – NIGHT AT SEA

AN AMAZING SPECIAL ISLAND TRIP TO WITNESS ONE OF THE NEW 7 NATURAL WONDERS OF THE WORLD.

Early breakfast on board. The boat will arrive at Loh Liang, the pier of Komodo Island. After a short briefing on the boat, before disembarkation and soft trekking on Komodo Island, guided by an experienced ranger(s). Spend the day exploring and trekking through the island, feeding and taking pictures with the Komodo Dragons. Komodo Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as Komodo Dragons are found native only on the islands of Komodo and Rinca.

After witnessing one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, return to the pier where lunch will be served on board. Sail towards the Pink Beach, one of the nine most beautiful beaches in the world, which is ideal for beach activities and water sports such as swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing. Then sail on to Manta Point, located between Pink beach and Padar Island, where schools of giant manta rays are often found swimming near the surface of the water, lucky tourists may even get to swim together with the rays. Leave Manta Point later in the afternoon and head for Padar Island. As the sky darkens, the boat will lay anchors. Have dinner and rest on board the boat. Night on the sea near Padar Island.

Day 6 PADAR – GILI LABAK ISL – RINCA ISL – KANAWA ISL – BIDADARI ISL – LABUAN BAJO

ONE MORE FULLDAY ISLAND TRIP TO WITNESS ONE OF THE NEW 7 NATURAL WONDERS OF THE WORLD.

After breakfast on board and a short briefing, disembark to commence trekking of Padar Island. Guests should reach the peak of Padar at Sunrise for its stunning view. Padar is known as the last part of heaven found on earth to many visitors from all over the world. The peak of Padar is the best viewpoint to see almost the whole of Komodo National Park. Leave Padar and head for Gili Laba Island for the more stunning view and its spectacular beaches for snorkelling. From Gili Laba, continue on to Rinca Island. Upon arrival at Loh Buaya Pier of Rinca Island, be briefed before disembarking to begin trekking to explore Rinca Island guided by our local experienced ranger(s) to see more giant dragons with more beautiful and brighter skin colours than those found on Komodo Island. Try to spot the flora and fauna the island has to offer, such as long-horned deer, water buffaloes, macaques, amongst rare plants and flowers.

Return to the pier, where lunch will be served on board the boat. Leave Rinca Island and sail to Kanawa Island, famous for its crystal clear water, perfect for beach activities and water sports such as swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing. The adventure continues to Bidadari Island (the Island of Angels). Sail back to Labuan Bajo. Transfer to hotel and check-in. Have dinner and rest.

Day 7 LABUAN BAJO – DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time for shopping, until departure for the airport.
