ITINERARY
DAY 1: SINGAPORE - CHENGDU/CHONGQING
  • Stay at Chengdu Chuangang Hotel or equivalent
  • Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Chengdu/Chongqing. Upon arrival, transfers to the hotel to rest or  leisure time.

DAY 2: CHENGDU - NYINGCHI
(LUNCH/DINNER:Stone Pot Chicken)
  • Stay at Tianyu Zangmi Theme Hotel/ Linzhi Impression Hotel or equivalent
  • After breakfast, transfer to Chengdu airport for your flight to Nyingchi. Upon arrival in evergreen Nyingchi which lies 2,500 metres above sea level and boasts of lush greenery and fresh blooms all year round. Take professional coach transfer to your hotel. Do take a rejuvenating rest so as to acclimatize to the high altitude before continuing your journey. In the afternoon, visit the 2,500-year-old Nyingchi King of Cypress, Giant Cypress Nature Reserve and tour around Bayi Subdistrict. Savor Stone pot chicken for dinner.
Note: For Apr departing packages, Additional attraction of Peach Valley Scenic Area: Sea of peach blossom can be seen and it only happens once in a year! All peach blossom trees are wild, hence it definitely has its worth of visiting.

DAY 3: NYINGCHI
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
  • Stay at Tianyu Zangmi Theme Hotel/ Linzhi Impression Hotel or equivalent
  • After breakfast, coach to Lamaling Monastery which belongs to the Red Sect and the biggest and most important monastery of Tibetan Buddhism. Dedicated to fertility, the monastery is one of the most distinctive Tibetan attractions. Continue on coach to Sejila Scenic Area to view the world’s 15th tallest peaks, Namcha Barwa which is 7,787 metres above sea level.  Namcha Barwa is also known fondly by locals as “the spear that pierces through the blue sky”. Its main peak towers above the clouds and its northern slope is filled with many mysterious legends. It is said to be one of the most difficult mountain peaks to climb in the world. Thereafter, view the natural scenery at the eastern Tibetan primitive forest, Lulang Forest. At the base of the snow-capped mountains are lush greenery and with its dream-like landscape, it is almost like heaven on earth. Then, return to Nyingchi and enjoy the natural scenic sights of Niyang River Valley along the way.  Behold the vignettes of typical Tibetan village marked by the primitive forest at the base of the snow-capped peaks, Ruyin Plain and livestock like cows and sheep dotting the grassland. 

DAY 4: NYINGCHI – MILA MOUNTAIN – (APPROX 8 HRS DRIVE) LHASA
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
  • Stay at Lhasa 5* Shangri-La Hotel or equivalent
  • After breakfast, coach to the most beautiful lake in Tibet, Basong Lake, also known as “The Alps of Tibet”. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and lush forest, Basong Lake has another name called Tsokou Lake. Located at the base of snow peak glaciers, Basong Lake boasts of crystal clear lake water which will leave you mesmerised by this paradise on earth. Upon arrival at Basong Lake, proceed to explore and stroll leisurely on Xianren Island located at the centre of the lake. Thereafter, Traverse across the 5,230 metres high Mila Mountain and pass by Maizhokunggar County and Dagze Plain during your journey to Lhasa. Enjoy the natural Tibetan beauty of the Nyingchi River Valley. Continue coach to Lhasa and you will pass Lhasa ancient town with over 1,300 years of history. It is the administrative, economic, cultural and religious capital of Tibet. As Tibet enjoys very long daylight, it is also known as the “sun-lit city”.  Lhasa in Tibetan means “sacred place” as there are many historical sites in the city. Upon arrival in Lhasa, take ample rest in order to acclimatize to the high altitude.

DAY 5: LHASA
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner:Mushroom steamboat)
  • Stay at Lhasa 5* Shangri-La Hotel or equivalent
  • This morning, visit Potala Palace, the world’s highest palace building built by Songtsen Gampo. Since the 7th century, it has been the centre of Tibetan government and spiritual power. Visit Zongjiao Lukang Park on your own expense. In the afternoon, head to Jokhang Temple, the spiritual centre of ardent Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims. The temple has over 1,350 years of history and is regarded as the most sacred and important temple in Tibet. According to legend, it is built to pay homage to an 8-year-old Sakyamuni Buddha statue. Then explore Barkhor Street, the most vibrant pedestrian street in Lhasa, to browse and buy colourful, unique hand-made handicraft by the various minority tribes at your own expense. Tibet flavor mushroom steamboat will be served for dinner. Enjoy Princess Wencheng musical show on your own expense.

DAY 6: LHASA – (APPROX 3.5HRS DRIVE) NAMTSO LAKE* - (APPROX 3.5HRS DRIVE) LHASA
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner:Korean BBQ)
  • Stay at Lhasa 5* Shangri-La Hotel or equivalent
  • This morning we will take a coach ride through the Qinghai-Tibet railway and Nagenla Snow Mountain to Namtso Lake, the salt water lake with the highest altitude in the world at 4718 metres. It is one of the 3 sacred lakes of Tibet thus also renowned as a holy lake in Tibetan Buddhism.  With its good quality of pastures along the lakeside, it is a natural ranch.  On the return journey back to Lhasa, you may also see the peak of Mt Tanggula covered with snow all year round.
  • *In the event that we are unable to visit Namtso Lake due to drastic weather condition, it will be replaced by Derpung Monastery and Past Dalai Lama’s treasured park - Norbulingka Palace.

DAY 7: LHASA – (APPROX 2 HRS DRIVE) YAMDROK TSO LAKE– (APPROX 4 HRS DRIVE) SHIGATSE
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
  • Stay at Jiumu Yamei Hotel or equivalent
  • Traverse across the snowy Mount Gangbala which stands at 4,900 metres above sea level. View Gangbala radar station in the distant. Continue to view the Kanola Glacier and tour Yamdrok Tso Lake’s surrounding before visiting Gyantse, the outdoor film set of the movie “Red River Valley”. Next, head to The Palkor Monastery to view its beautiful wall murals and sculptures. After visiting the British resistance fort at Mount Zong, head to Shigatse.

DAY 8: SHIGATSE– (APPROX 4-5HRS DRIVE) LHASA
(Breakfast/Lunch/ Dinner :Tibetan Tsampa, Butter Tea, Yogurt, Yak Meat, Highland Barley Wine)
  • Stay at Lhasa 5* Shangri-La Hotel or equivalent
  • After breakfast, we will visit the Tashilunpo Monastery, which is the final resting place of Panchen Lama and also one of the 6 major monasteries for Tibetan Yellow Sect.  This monastery was built by the first Panchen Lama in 1447 and thereafter became the resident of all the previous Panchen Lama.  The world’s tallest Maitreya Buddha statue, which is 28 meters tall, is also enshrined the monastery.  We will also see the Stupa-tomb of the Tenth Panchen Lama here. En-route you will visit to The Park of Oriental Miraculous Mastiff. Tibetan Mastiff with the nicknames such as “Miraculous Beast”, “Number One Dog” and “Antique Dog” originates from the highland of Tibet, at 3000-5000m above the sea with cold weather. Join in Tibetan home visit on your own expense. Lastly, we will coach back to Lhasa and appreciate the art of Tibetan Thangka.  At night, take a stroll at the Potala Palace Square and be awed by its mysterious charm.

DAY 9: LHASA - CHENGDU (OR CHONGQING) - SINGAPORE
(Breakfast)
  • After breakfast, proceed to Lhasa Gongga airport for your domestic flight to Chengdu (or Chongqing) and connect international flight back to Singapore, home sweet home. We hope you have a pleasant journey with Chan Brothers Travel.
Note: If there is no flight, back via Chengdu on the same day, there will be 1 night stay at 5* Sofitel hotel with lunch arranged, take flight back on D10.
