4 Days / 3 Nights West Coast Journey
 
Day 1: Launceston - Cradle Mountain (181km - 2hrs 30mins)
Visit 41* South Tasmania Salmon and Ginseng Farm; Melita Honey Farm to taste Tasmania’s famous Leatherwood honey; Ashgrove Farm Cheese and House of Anvers Chocolate Factory to taste fine coverture chocolate and truffles. Visit Sheffield and view the murals depicting the regions’ history. Or visit Tasmazia; Trowunna Wildlife Park and take a tour Maraoopa Cave to see glow worms before heading up to Cradle Mountain. In the evening, for some nocturnal fun, join the animal spotlight tours or [email protected] for some wildlife night feeding.
 
Extend your stay: Options on The North West Coast
Admire fields of striped tulips (Sep - Oct) and other seasonal blooms such as iris, daffodils and lilies at Table Cape. From Stanely, join a tour to Cape Grim to catch a whiff of the cleanest air in the world, walk or take the chairlift ride to the top of The Nut.
 
Day 2: Cradle Mountain - Strahan (151km - 2hrs 30mins)
Explore Cradle Mountain National park, stroll around Dove Lake and explore the surroundings or indulge in nature activities such as walks, house riding, fly-fishing or wilderness flights. In the afternoon, head to Zeehan Mining Museum and foolow the road to Strahan, a beautiful fishing village overlooking the vast Macquarie Harbour Australia; once home to the Colony’s most infamous convicts.
 
Day 3: Strahan
Take a Gordon River cruise and in the evening, enjoy ’The Ship That Never Was’ - a play depicting the convicts epic escape from Sarah Island.
 
Day 4: Strahan - Hobart (300km - 5hrs)
Depart Strahan for Queenstown where you can tour the Mt Lynell Copper Mine. Stretch your legs at Lake St Clair, see history in the making at The Wall in the Wilderness and walk to Russell Falls in Mount Field National Park. For a farmstay, stay at Curringa Farm or journey on to Horbart.
 
 
4 Days / 3 Nights East Coast Journey
 
Day 1: Hobart - Richmond - Tasman Peninsula/East Coast (314km - 4hrs)
Visit Richmond, stop at Sorell Fruit Farm to pick fruit (when in season) and explore Tasman Peninsula. Visit Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park, World Heritage listed Port Arthur Historic Site and take the Tasman Island eco-cruise.
 
Day 2: East Coast
Explore Freycinet National Park; climb the Wineglass Bay Lookout, take a challenging walk to Wineglass Bay, visit Cape Tourville Lighthouse or explore the coast in a sea kayak. You may choose to cruise Wineglass Bay, take a scenic flight or take a 4WD motobike to explore Freycinet’s magical beaches and granite sea cliffs. Visit Freycinet Marine Farm and join Bicheno Penguin Tours in the evening.
 
Day 3: East Coast - St Helens - Bay of Fires - Launceston (277km - 5hrs) 
Enjoy Tasmania’s most scenic coastal drive stopping at Natureworld before arriving at the beautiful Bay of Fires. Then head inland to Pyengana Cheese Factory, St Columba Falls and Forst Eco Centre. In summer, visit Bridestowe Lavender Estate at Nabowla. You can stay and tee off at international acclaimed twin links courses at Barnbougle Dunes and Lost farm. Or drive 175km inland via Lake Leake, detour to Ross; sample the delights at Ross Bakery, with its original wood-fired oven.
 
Day 4: Launceston - Tamar Valley (100km - 2hrs return)
Morning take the chairlift across Cataract Gorge and head north to Tamar Valley. Visit Hillwood Berry Farm, Lavender House; Seahorse World; Platypus House and spend time at Tasmania’s acclaimed cool-climate wineries. In the afternoon, tour south by visiting the Tasmanian Honey Company; Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce and World Heritage listed sites of Brickendon and Woolmer Estates, renowned for its Rose Garden.
