ITINERARY

DAY 1: SINGAPORE - CAIRO

Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

Note:

[Travellers flying by Emirates or Qatar will assemble on the night of day 1. However, the flight only departs after midnight.]([object Object]) Travellers flying by QR943 | EK405 day flight, you will arrive in the evening of Day 1 and transfer to hotel after dinner.

DAY 2: CAIRO

Highlights:

Tahrir Square, The Egyptian Museum, The Citadel of Sultan Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi (Saladin), Muhammad Ali Mosque, Khan al-Khalili

Upon arrival, drive past Tahrir Square before you visit the famous pharaohs and marvel at the treasures of ancient Egyptian civilisations during your guided tour at The Egyptian Museum. Next, visit The Citadel of Sultan Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi (Saladin) and Muhammad Ali Mosque. Thereafter, proceed to Khan al-Khalili, the largest bazaar in the Mideast with more than 4,000 stalls. After that, check in to your hotel.

DAY 3: CAIRO - LUXOR

Highlights:

Temple of Luxor, Karnak Temple Complex, Papyrus Institute

Today, transfer for your domestic flight to Luxor and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the east bank of the Nile. Visit Temple of Luxor, built in the time of Pharaoh Amenhotep II and Pharaoh Ramses II. Visit Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest temple complexes in history. Visit Papyrus Institute to learn about the ancient Egyptian art of papermaking, dating back to 3000 BC. Discover the fascinating process of transforming the stems of the papyrus plant into paper. Next, proceed to embark on a 4-night Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan.

DAY 4: LUXOR - ESNA - EDFU

Highlights:

Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon, Esna Locks

This morning, continue your journey to the west bank of the Nile to visit Valley of the Kings, where tombs were built for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt. Next, visit Temple of Hatshepsut, a mortuary temple dedicated to the Sun God. Pass by Colossi of Memnon, 2 massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, which have stood here for the past 3,400 years. Thereafter, continue on your cruise and sail south towards Edfu, passing through Esna Locks.

DAY 5: EDFU - KOM OMBO - ASWAN

Kalesh Ride, Temple of Edfu, Temple of Kom Ombo, Galabia-Themed Party

After breakfast, hop on a kalesh ride, an Egyptian horse-drawn carriage, to visit Temple of Edfu, the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt. Continue sailing south towards Kom Ombo to visit Temple of Kom Ombo, an unusual double temple dedicated to 2 gods, Sobek and Horus. Tonight, enjoy a galabia-themed party on board the cruise.

DAY 6: ASWAN

Highlights:

Abu Simbel Temples, Elephantine Island, Fuluka Ride, Mausoleum of the Aga Khan

Early morning, head to the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples, one of the most famous ancient monuments in Egypt. The temples were once at risk of being submerged under water in the 1960s. With help from UNESCO, Egyptologists and antiquity experts, the temples were dismantled from where they were built over 3,000 years ago and repositioned to where it is standing now. In the afternoon, sail around Elephantine Island on a traditional fuluka ride and view Mausoleum of the Aga Khan on the west bank of the Nile.

DAY 7: ASWAN - CAIRO

Highlights:

Aswan High Dam, The Unfinished Obelisk, Motorboat Ride to Temple of Philae

This morning, disembark from the cruise and continue sightseeing in Aswan. Visit Aswan High Dam, an engineering miracle built in the 1960s to regulate river flooding and provide water and electricity to the whole of Egypt. Next, proceed to view enormous structure of The Unfinished Obelisk and take a motorboat ride to the beautiful Temples of Philae, dedicated to Goddess Isis. Thereafter, take a domestic flight back to Cairo.

DAY 8: CAIRO

Highlights:

Great Pyramid of Giza, Camel Ride, The Great Sphinx, Memphis, Saqqara Step Pyramid, Perfume Factory

View Great Pyramid of Giza, the oldest and the only site in existence amongst the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Conclude your visit to the pyramids with a fun camel ride. Just down the escarpment from the pyramids, you will come face-to-face with The Great Sphinx, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. Continue your journey to the ancient capital of Memphis, where the colossal statue of Pharaoh Ramses II and a great alabaster sphinx stand. Thereafter, proceed to Saqqara Step Pyramid, a site built for Pharoh Djoser and the oldest limestone structure in the world. At a perfume factory, have the chance to browse perfumes with exquisite designs and purchase them at your own expense.

DAY 9: CAIRO - ALEXANDRIA - CAIRO

Highlights:

The Catacombs of Kom al-Shouqafa, Pompey’s Pillars, The Citadel of Qayitbay, Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque

Today, drive north to Alexandria, known as Pearl of the Mediterranean. Upon arrival, visit places of interest such as The Catacombs of Kom al-Shouqafa and Pompey’s Pillar. Alexandria has a well-earned reputation for being home to the tastiest seafood in the country! Enjoy a delicious fish meal for lunch! Thereafter, enjoy a leisure stroll along the shore of the eastern harbour that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Thereafter, visit The Citadel of Qayitbay which was built in the 15th century. The fort was built on the site of Alexandria’s ancient lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World which was destroyed by an earthquake. Afterwards, have a photo-stop at the beautiful Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque. before returning to Cairo for your overnight stay.

DAY 10: CAIRO - SINGAPORE

After breakfast, you can do some last-minute shopping before you transfer to the airport for your flight home.
