ITINERARY

DAY 1: SINGAPORE - CAIRO

Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Cairo, the capital of Egypt. Note Travellers flying by Emirates and Qatar Airways will assemble on the night of day 1. However, the flight only departs after midnight.

DAY 2: CAIRO

Highlights:

Tahrir Square, Egyptian Museum, Saleh El-Din Citadel, Mohamed Ali Mosque

Upon arrival, drive past Tahrir Square before you visit the famous pharaohs and marvel at the treasures of ancient Egyptian civilisations during your guided tour at Egyptian Museum. Visit Saleh El-Din Citadel and Mohamed Ali Mosque. Thereafter, check in to your hotel.

DAY 3: CAIRO - LUXOR

Highlights:

Temple of Luxor, Karnak Temple Complex

Today, take a domestic flight to Luxor and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the east bank of the Nile. Visit Temple of Luxor, built in the time of Pharaoh Amenhotep II and Pharaoh Ramses II. Visit Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest temple complexes in history. Next, proceed to embark on a 4-night Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan.

DAY 4: LUXOR - ESNA - EDFU

Highlights:

Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon, Edfu

This morning, continue your journey to the west bank of the Nile to visit Valley of the Kings, where tombs were built for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt. Next, visit Temple of Hatshepsut, a mortuary temple dedicated to the Sun God. Pass by Colossi of Memnon, 2 massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Thereafter, continue on your cruise and sail south towards Edfu, passing through Esna Lock.

DAY 5: EDFU - KOM OMBO - ASWAN

Highlights:

Kalesh Ride, Temple of Horus, Temple of Kom Ombo at Kom Ombo, Galabia-Themed Party

After breakfast, hop on a kalesh ride, an Egyptian horse-drawn carriage, to visit Temple of Horus, the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt. Continue sailing south towards Kom Ombo to visit Temple of Kom Ombo, an unusual double temple dedicated to 2 gods, Sobek and Horus. Tonight, enjoy a galabia-themed party on board the cruise.

DAY 6: ASWAN

Highlights:

Abu Simbel Temples, Elephantine Island, Felucca Ride, Mausoleum of the Aga Khan

Early morning, head to the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples, one of the most famous ancient monuments in Egypt. The temples were dismantled from where they were built over 3,000 years ago and repositioned to where they are standing now. In the afternoon, sail around Elephantine Island on a traditional felucca ride and view Mausoleum of the Aga Khan on the west bank of the Nile.

DAY 7: ASWAN - CAIRO

Highlights:

Aswan High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk, Temple of Philae

This morning, disembark from the cruise and continue sightseeing in Aswan. Visit Aswan High Dam, an engineering miracle built in the 1960s to regulate river flooding and provide water and electricity to the whole of Egypt. Next, proceed to view Unfinished Obelisk and take a motorboat ride to the beautiful Temple of Philae, dedicated to Goddess Isis. Thereafter, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight back to Cairo.

DAY 8: CAIRO - SINA PENINSULA - ST CATHERINE

Highlights:

Sinai Peninsula, Suez Canal Tunnels, St Catherine, Mt Sinai

This morning, depart Cairo for Sinai Peninsula via Suez Canal tunnels. Continue your journey to St Catherine. You may choose to rest early for the night as you prepare for the ascent to Mt Sinai before dawn the following day.

DAY 9: ST CATHERINE - RED SEA

Highlights:

Red Sea

Before dawn, climb up the majestic Mt Sinai. In doing so, it is believed that you will retrace the footsteps of Moses, who had climbed Mt Sinai to receive the 10 Commandments. Thereafter, depart St Catherine for a resort in Sharm el-Sheikh, a popular resort region in the Red Sea.

Bonus:

After the Mt Sinai ascent, travellers may visit St Catherine’s Monastery if it falls during non-closure days/time. St Catherine’s Monastery is closed on Fridays and Sundays and admission is not allowed during religious occasions on 7 to 9 December. Religious calendar for 2023 is unavailable at the time of print and is to be advised.

Note:

Mt Sinai ascent may be shifted to the evening on day 8. Travellers may have the opportunity to marvel at amazing sunrise or sunset views halfway through the climb.

Mt Sinai ascent is not suitable for travellers who are pregnant, with mobility issues, with health ailments such as back, neck and heart problems and children under 2 years old. Travellers may choose to opt out of the Mt Sinai ascent and wait for the group at the hotel.

DAY 10: RED SEA

Today, spend the day at leisure. Take the chance to relax and rejuvenate at your resort.

DAY 11: RED SEA - CAIRO

Highlights:

Memphis, Saqqara Step Pyramid, Great Pyramid of Giza, Camel Ride, Khan El-Khalili

Transfer to the airport for your domestic flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, visit the ancient capital of Memphis, where the colossal statue of Ramses II and a great alabaster sphinx stand. Proceed to Saqqara Step Pyramid, the oldest limestone structure in the world. View the Great Pyramid of Giza, the oldest and the only site in existence amongst the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Just down the escarpment from the pyramids, you will come face-to-face with the Great Sphinx of Giza, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. Conclude your visit to the pyramids with a fun camel ride. End your day at Khan El-Khalili, the largest bazaar in the Mideast with more than 4,000 stalls. You can shop for excellent handicrafts and even try Egyptian coffee and shisha, a traditional flavoured tobacco, at your own expense.

DAY 12: CAIRO - SINGAPORE

Spend the morning at leisure. If time permits, you can do some last-minute shopping before you transfer to the airport for your flight home.

DAY 13: ARRIVE IN SINGAPORE
